Re:
Treating Erectile Dysfunction
Dear
Colleague,
We
would like to introduce you to our practice. The Canadian
Men's Clinic is affiliated with a worldwide organization
of medical clinics whose focus is on the treatment of
male sexual dysfunction, specifically erectile
dysfunction, premature ejaculation and low libido. With
over 16 years of experience in this field, our clinics
have established themselves as significant treatment
centers for these most personal of men's health problems.
State-of-the-art pharmaceutical and psychological
protocols have been refined through the management of
thousands of patients from all walks of life. This has
enabled our experienced doctors to offer a response rate
of over 90% in the patients presenting to our clinics
with erectile dysfunction. Through the sharing of
information with hundreds of practitioners in this field
worldwide, we have the advantage of constantly remaining
up-to-date with all the latest medical advances. This
knowledge allows us to offer our patients a full range of
all the latest treatment options, thereby drastically
increasing their chances of being successfully treated.
IDENTIFYING
THE PROBLEM
With
the availability of effective oral medication, the
problem of erectile dysfunction has received a great deal
of media coverage and publicity. Thousands of men, who
previously did not know that help was available, are now
inquiring about treatment. However, due to the nature of
this problem, men often find it difficult to step forward
and admit their struggles. We strongly encourage all
medical practitioners to take the initiative and ask
their patients if they are experiencing problems getting
or maintaining an erection, with premature ejaculation or
low sex drive. Furthermore, as you know, there is a high
co-morbidity that is associated with erectile
dysfunction. This puts many of your patients at risk
including those who suffer or have suffered with
depression, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, myocardial
infarction, vascular disease and more. Conversely, E.D
can be an early warning sign of these and other medical
conditions and as more research becomes available on
these associations, asking a patient about his sexual
function becomes an even more essential part of a routine
check-up. Thus, the benefits associated with improving a
man's sexual function go beyond sexual activity alone,
and can have an impact on his overall health and well
being. At Canadian Men's Clinic we understand the anxiety
and frustration associated with sexual dysfunction and we
are not only here to help men improve their erections,
but we are also able to help ease their anxiety through
education and support counseling.
A
PRESCRIPTION ALONE IS NOT THE FULL SOLUTION
Our
experience has shown us that the vast majority of
patients cannot be treated effectively by simply writing
a prescription. Support counseling and education are
essential in treating these patients. Additionally,
having a full range of treatment options available to the
patient is also essential for success. Patients respond
differently to different methods of treatment.
Furthermore, some patients may not be suitable candidates
for certain medications. In speaking with our patients,
we have found that of those who had been unsuccessful on
medication previously prescribed by their family doctors,
many were reluctant to re-approach their physicians due
to embarrassment and the false presumption that there was
nothing more that could be done. We strongly encourage
physicians to initiate follow-up visits with their
erectile dysfunction patients. For example, many of the
men who are unsuccessful with initial Viagra attempts may
in fact be treatable with additional counseling, stronger
doses, another treatment option or a combination of
treatment options.
INJECTION
THERAPY OFTEN WORKS WHEN OTHER TREATMENTS FAIL
If
oral medication is unsuccessful or is not suitable for a
particular patient, combination injection therapy can
offer extremely high success rates. To yield the highest
results, we use a virtually painless administering
technique and a specific combination of medication and
strengths, tailored to each individual patient. For
example, some patients will not respond to Prostaglandin
alone, but require a triple or quad mix to achieve
results. When using injection therapy, we provide the
patient with an in-clinic trial dose. The mixture is then
titrated until the patient achieves an optimum response.
ACCEPTING
REFERRALS - FOR EVEN THE MOST COMPLICATED CASES
Our
expertise in this area allows us to successfully treat
patients presenting with even the most complicated of
cases. We would be happy to accept a referral from you,
either before or after you have prescribed a course of
treatment for your patient. If initial treatment fails,
patients need not give up hope. We feel it extremely
important that the patient is given the opportunity to
thoroughly investigate all of his treatment
options.
KEEPING
YOU INFORMED
As
the primary caregiver, you will receive a full report
outlining our diagnosis and the course of treatment that
your patient was prescribed. Our goal is to ensure that
each patient receives a treatment method that works for
him and that he is satisfied with the results.
